Ross Cullum may think he just gained control of the situation, but after watching this latest General Hospital twist, I can’t shake the feeling that he has made a massive mistake by targeting Liesl Obrecht. – usnews
If there’s one thing Port Charles history has taught us, it’s that forcing Liesl into a corner rarely ends well for the person doing the forcing. Cullum seems convinced that kidnapping her and locking her beneath Wyndemere will help him complete Faison’s mysterious final project. The problem is that he’s treating Liesl like a victim when she has spent years surviving people far more dangerous than him.
That’s what makes this storyline so intriguing.
When Liesl wakes up and realizes she’s trapped alongside Josslyn Jacks, the situation looks hopeless on the surface. Cullum has control of the facility. Sidwell still has resources. Faison’s unfinished project hangs over everything like a dark cloud. But the more I think about it, the more I wonder if Cullum is underestimating exactly who he has imprisoned.
Liesl knows Faison better than anyone.
She understands how he thinks, how he manipulates people, and how his plans inevitably collapse because of his own arrogance. If Cullum truly believes he can force her to finish the work of the man who spent years tormenting her family, he may be walking directly into the same trap that destroyed so many of Faison’s schemes before him.
What really stands out to me is that this isn’t simply a kidnapping story anymore. It’s becoming a collision of several dangerous elements at once. Josslyn is already looking for a way out. Cassius is increasingly conflicted about his role in the operation. And now Liesl has been dropped directly into the middle of it all. That creates a combination of intelligence, desperation, and divided loyalties that could become extremely difficult for Cullum to control.
Then there’s the emotional bombshell waiting in the doorway.
For a brief moment, Liesl believes she is looking at Nathan West. After everything she’s endured, that split second of hope may be one of the cruelest moments in the entire storyline. The reality, of course, is far more complicated. The man standing before her is Cassius Faison, the son she never knew existed and the twin brother Nathan never knew he had.
That revelation alone has enough emotional weight to fuel weeks of story.
But I don’t think the real drama ends with Liesl learning the truth. The bigger question is what happens after she learns it. Once Liesl realizes who Cassius really is, she may become the one person capable of pushing him fully away from Sidwell and Cullum. If Cassius already has doubts about what he’s doing, discovering a real connection to his mother could become the final crack in his loyalty.
And if that happens, Cullum’s entire operation could start falling apart from the inside.
For me, that’s why this kidnapping feels so risky for the villains. They think they’re forcing a brilliant doctor to complete a project. In reality, they may have just placed their biggest enemy in the center of their most guarded secret. Liesl isn’t the type of character who quietly follows orders. She’s the type who studies the room, finds the weakness, and turns the entire situation against the people who thought they were in control.
So what do you think? Will Liesl play along long enough to learn what Cullum is planning, or will she immediately start looking for a way to destroy everything? Could Cassius become her unexpected ally? And is kidnapping Liesl the mistake that finally brings down Cullum and Sidwell’s entire operation? 🤔🔥
