General Hospital Wednesday, July 1 Recap: Ethan Shot, Cassius’ Getaway Car, Carly’s Fireplace Poker Defense – usnews
General Hospital (GH) recap for Wednesday, July 1, reveals that Ethan Lovett (Nathan Dean) took a bullet while Cassius Faison aka “Nathan West” (Ryan Paevey) took the next steps for his escape.
Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) was also forced to defend herself once she was under attack at Wyndemere, so here’s how all Wednesday’s GH action played out.
In Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) office, he explained to Giovanni “Gio” Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza) that he couldn’t lose someone else he loved like Morgan Corinthos (Bryan Craig), so Gio agreed to move out for the time being and stay safe from Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota).
At the gallery, Sidwell changed his mind about taking Ava Jerome (Maura West) hostage and opted to take ADA Justine Turner (Nazneen Contractor) hostage instead.
Ava wound up provoking Sidwell, who nearly fired his weapon at her.
However, Justine dove at Sidwell as Ethan pushed Ava out of the way.
Ethan took a bullet to the butt and was in a lot of pain as he hid in the storeroom with Ava, who used a drop cloth to control the bleeding.
Back with Sidwell, he had Justine call Sonny on speakerphone to get him over to the gallery. Once Sonny arrived, he found Sidwell holding Justine at gunpoint.
At Turning Woods, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) realized Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) wasn’t breathing and did CPR until he gasped back to life.
Brennan explained that Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) was behind the carbon monoxide tank, so Nina realized Cullum needed to think he was dead.
Nina decided to throw her wealth around and bribe some staff members to hide Brennan in a different room under an alias.
Meanwhile, Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) stopped “Nathan” from leaving the batting cages with James West (Gary James Fuller) after listening to Felicia Scorpio’s (Kristina Wagner) voicemail and suggested “Nathan” had business to take care of his own.
“Nathan” admitted to James that he made a mistake and had to go away.
Although “Nathan” knew James would hear a lot of bad things about him, he promised he loved James and that it’d be a lie if anyone said otherwise.
After “Nathan” hugged James goodbye and took off, Cody called Felicia to fill her in on what happened.
Felicia realized that with the way “Nathan” was acting, Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) must be right about her Cassius twin takeover theory.
Back with Cassius, he removed the cover from a car that he’d stashed in a parking lot somewhere.
The vehicle had an Ontario license plate and a packed bag that included a Canadian passport, so Cassius ditched his regular wallet and sped off.
At GH, Carly overheard Joe Fitzpatrick (Jonathan Bennett) notifying the PCPD that they needed to put an APB out on “Detective Nathan West” since he was working with Sidwell.
Lucas Jones (Van Hansis) insisted on bringing Joe back to the exam room for stitches and got the news that “Nathan” was actually Cassius Faison.
Joe mentioned that he confided in “Nathan” about the saline syringe that he found in Britt Westbourne’s (Kelly Thiebaud) room.
Lucas was confused since there was no way Britt would be injecting herself with saline.
After Carly made her way to Wyndemere, she overheard Cullum telling Agent Harker (Matt Merchant) that Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) and Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) would be eliminated.
Harker and Cullum ambushed Carly next, so she warned Cullum that the jig was up since Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) went to Geneva to expose him.
Cullum doubted that the WBS would believe a wanted criminal like Valentin and felt they’d be here by now if Valentin’s plan had actually worked.
Carly didn’t care whether Cullum got away or not since she just wanted Josslyn back.
Cullum suggested he’d arrange for Carly and Josslyn to be buried together since he clearly had no intention of letting either one leave alive.
Out by the loading dock, Charlotte Cassadine (Bluesy Burke) and Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn) arrived by the massive truck that’d been brought in for the project’s transport.
Danny and Charlotte lit some firecrackers as a diversion, which paid off since Cullum and Harker assumed it was gunfire.
Cullum went to look into that and gave Harker orders to eliminate Carly while he was gone.
Carly managed to grab a fireplace poker while Harker’s back was turned and took a swing to defend herself.
Down in captivity, Obrecht cut the wire to unlock the electronic door system.
Obrecht and Josslyn were about to flee, but one of Cullum’s men popped up to block their path.
General Hospital spoilers say Josslyn and Liesl will keep fighting for their freedom, so stay tuned.
